Tangle Tamer

Knock out knots by giving your hair a quick brush before every shower.  Pat (don't rub) freshly washed tresses with a towel.  Then use a wide tooth detangling comb to take care of tangles.  Start at the end of your  hair and work your way up (don't back comb I mean like do little by little)

Home Made Body Lotion

Hey!! its me again to tell you how to make home made almond body lotion

Here is what you need:
1/4 teaspoon borax powder
1/2 cup water
1 cup almond oil
2 tablespoons almond extract

in a small heat resistant container, dissolve the borax in the water.  You can find borax in any grocery store next to the laundry detergent.  In a second heat resistant container combine the oil and grated beeswax.  I ordered my oil and beeswax online at mountainroseherb.com

Put the oil and beeswax in the microwave for 2 minutes, or until the wax has melted

Put water and borax mixture in the microwave for one minute, or until its just under a boiling temperature your goal is to get the water and the oil to approximately the same temperature before combining them.

Next pour the borax water in the blender and turn it on.  Then while the blender is running add the oil in a slow steady stream (in the little hole on top)

blend on high for about 2 minutes.  It will look white and thick if it looks really runny, just let it cool off for 5 minutes or so and then blend it again as it cools it will get thicker.

blend in the almond extract and pour in to bottles with lids (you can get them at target for like a $1)
If your lotion is still runny just stick it back in the blender for 1 min.

Infinity Scarf

Welcome back!!  today I am going to teach you how to make your very own infinity scarf!!

Supplies:
15 inches of your favorite knit fabric
matching thread

.
Cut fabric to be 15 x 54-60.

Place right sides together on selvage edge. Stitch along selvage edge using a knit stitch.Using the knit stitch allows for a small amount of stretch.

At this point you can wear your infinity scarf if you would like.

I decided to go a step further to hide the seam.
With right side out. twist fabric at seam ends to  stitch seam with right sides together.
This will just hide the seam a little.

and now enjoy your awesome new scarf!!

Bath salts

After a full day of working or being at school there's nothing better than a hot bath- except of coarse a hot bath inriched in fragrant bath salts!! While there are many commercially prepared bath salts available, it's surprisingly easy to prepare your own blend at home!!!

In a large bowl mix; 6 parts coarse sea salt, 3 parts Epsom salts, to sooth tired muscles and reduce  inflammation, add 1 part baking soda, to soften the waters and alliviate skin irritation.  Add a few drops of essential oils, and mix together all this stuff well.  Then add a few drops of food coloring until you get the desired color.  Now pour all the stuff into a mason jar or old cleaned out jelly jar and if you want to give this as a gift tie a bow around and label it with what ever scent you put in and there you go!! Face Masks

hey its me again here to give you a few simple face mask recipes

HONEY MASK
Apply pure honey (straight from the bottle) to your face and neck. Allow it to set until dry (about 15 minutes). Rinse with very warm water.

                                   Avocado mask
It is easy to make: mash the flesh of avocado with a fork, add a touch of extra-virgin olive oil, and apply this smooth, fragrant mixture onto your face.

                                            Honey Whole Wheat Flour Mask

For flawless glowing skin this mask has proved to work the best. Take 5 tablespoons of whole wheat flour in a bowl. Add three teaspoons of honey and mix it thoroughly. Add juice of one fresh lemon and mix whole of the mixture to a smooth paste . Now apply it on face and wait for 30 minutes. Wash your face with warm water and see a definite difference. Use it once a week. It heals infected pimples, blackheads and breakouts. This mask tightens skin, minimizes pores and makes skin fresh and healthy

                                        Egg Yolk Mask

A very simple mask to make at home. All you need is an egg yolk in a bowl. Mix one tablespoon of honey in the yolk and a few drops of lemon juice. Mix it thoroughly until it mixes up well and gives a fine soft paste look. Apply it on your face excluding eyes. Keep it applied for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash with normal temperature water. Rinse it off and you will feel the difference yourself.

That's all for this post! come back soon!! ~Annika
